The Radi8 Basics

Reading

You've already performed one of the most important actions in Radi8: Reading a story. When you click on a story in your news feed you can read the original article, like you're doing now. You can earn points for reading stories, but we're sure you're here because you're interested in the content... not just being top of the leaderboard!

Sharing

The second most important action in Radi8 is sharing a story. You can share a story directly from the Radi8 news feed by tapping the Share button. You can email or text a link, or share on LinkedIn, Twitter or Facebook. For those of you who like to compete, sharing scores you big points!

Posting

The third most important action is posting a story. If you look at the top-right corner of your screen inside the Radi8 mobile app, you'll see a plus symbol for posting news. When you tap on the plus symbol you can choose to post an article into the Radi8 newsfeed for others to read, comment and share. Posting news is a way to share knowledge with other and also get their thoughts on breaking news.

To post news into Radi8 you’ll need the URL of the news story. Usually you can copy this from the browser or other app where you read the original story—just choose copy URL. Once you have the URL, tap the plus symbol within Radi8. Paste in the URL and click Preview. You will see a preview of the story you are about to post. Choose whether you want the story to be Shared or Read. The default is to Share - choose Read to suggest reading only. If you want, you can also edit the suggested Share text. When you're ready, click Save and the news story will be published to the company news feed.

Radi8 also has a Chrome extension if you want to do one-click posting of news into the newsfeed without even leaving the browser.

Points Leaderboard

We’d also like to point out the Radi8 Points section so we can get a little friendly competition going at your company. At the bottom of the screen in the Radi8 app you will see a tab called "Points" and you may even see a number over it. These points are calculated monthly so you can see your Radi8 score compared with other users at your company. The leaderboard points reset to zero at the beginning of the month. The number you see over the top of the Points tab is your total for the current month.

If you want something more than a friendly competition, go ahead and suggest to your company Radi8 admin, awards and prizes you'd be motivated to win.

The Radi8 Admin

The main Radi8 Admin for your company is listed under Account. If you want to be added as a Radi8 Admin for your company, contact the person listed. Radi8 Admins can manage users, news posts, points and view analytics.
